Get Ready for a Sparkling Conversation on CBC’s Maritime Noon!
I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be a guest at CBC Sydney for Maritime Noon, hosted by Bob Murphy, on Wednesday, September 3, between 12:00 and 1:00 p.m.. This beloved CBC Radio One program shines a light on stories that matter to Maritimers—and this time, I’ll be talking about one very special part of Louisbourg’s coastal magic: sea glass.
What to Expect During the Show
- Call in to share your sea glass stories or ask your questions—maybe you’ve found a rare piece of sea pottery or an old clay pipe shard along our shores?
- I’ll be chatting about Louisbourg’s hidden sea glass treasures—how our shores yield not just beautiful, frosted-glass gems, but also fascinating ocean-worn fragments of local history.
- I’ll also highlight how these finds inspired my newest autumn release: the Sea Glass Season soy candle, part of The Logbook collection. This candle is inspired by the final days of summer, inching into the fall, warm sunsets and sea breezes and the joys of finding sea glass after a big storm.
I’m proud to introduce the Sea Glass Season 8 oz Soy Candle, a sensory tribute to Cape Breton’s shoreline treasures. Handmade with clean-burning soy wax, this fragrance is inspired by the serene beauty and textured history of sea glass found just steps from our Kelp House studio in downtown Louisbourg. Discover it here:

When people think of sea glass in Nova Scotia, Inverness Beach or Dominion Beach might spring to mind—but here in Louisbourg, there’s so much more hidden along our coastlines. History-lovers can discover sea pottery or worn clay pipe fragments, softened by time and tides into little tactile souvenirs. Every shoreline walk connects the past with the present—uncovering remnants of Cape Breton’s storied maritime heritage as well as nature’s artistry.
Want to know some of the best places to find Sea Glass in Cape Breton Island? Call in on September 3rd and ask us! :)
